Fiat(Ghia)1500Gt

Launched in 1962 on the basis of a Fiat 1500 C, the Ghia 1500 Coupe was a nice two seater with reasonable performance figures.Ghia were successful with their 1500 GT, which was a 2+2 coupe based on the versatile Fiat 1500 chassis. This car was comparable with the Karmann Ghia of Volkswagen: it looked fast and sporting with clean lines and thanks to its slippery shape a top speed of 170 kph was possible. Built using a monocoque construction, Ghia did some beautiful work with the Fiat raw materials, shortening the rear overhang, while lengthening the front for true sports-car proportions. The 1500 GT was a fairly small car at 4,170 mm. Total build figures remain small with only 600 produced in total. The converted 1,481 cc Fiat four cylinder engine provided the power with 84 bhp on tap at 5,200 rpm, feeding through a 4 speed manual gearbox.
